Billing Questions: Features Questions

BILLING QUESTIONS
Why is my first bill so much more than what I thought it would be?

A prorated service charge can be on your bill for more than one reason. The first reason may be if you are a new customer. We always bill wireless service one month in advance. In addition you are charged from the time you came in and signed up for service until the bill cycle starts over. That is the prorated portion of your bill, plus your next months charge for service in advance.

Is there a fee if I terminate my service before the end of my contract?

Yes, there is a fee if you terminate your service before the term of your contract. That fee is $20.00 A MONTH UP TO A MAXIUM OF $400.00.

What is roaming?

When you are outside of the FMS service area you are roaming. This means you are using another wireless carrier's equipment. Depending upon the plan you chose, this might cover a portion of a CITY or several PROVINCES When you are outside of your rate plan area, you will see the charge as roaming fees.

What happens if I forget to push the end key when I am finished with a call?

If you forget to press the END key to terminate a call, usually the call will automatically disconnect when the other person hangs up. But occasionally the call could result in several extra minutes of use on your next bill, so you will want to make sure you always press end when you are finished talking.

Can a FMS OR BELL MOBILITY number be listed in the 411 Wireless Phone Directory?

Not at this time, FMS is not participating in the wireless phone directory.

Ring control

With ring control, you can choose the number of times your phone rings before the Message Centre picks up.

Step
1 From your cell phone, press *94.
2 Enter the number of standard rings that you’d like your callers to hear before Message
Centre picks up; this can be between 2 and 9.
3 Press SEND.
4 If the change was successful, you’ll hear a confirmation tone. If the change wasn’t successful,
you’ll hear a fast busy signal; repeat steps 1–3.
5 You're done! You’ve now changed your ring control.

Good to know

Different types of phones have different standard ring lengths and customizable settings. If you enter a number of rings less than 2 or more than 9, the system will automatically abort the change and default to the previous setting.

Ring control only works when the phone is ON and on the Bell Mobility network.
